Pokemon – Yellow Version

About The Game

Pokémon Yellow Version Special Pikachu Edition, released in 1998 for the Game Boy, is an enhanced version of Pokémon Red and Blue. This edition aligns more closely with the Pokémon anime series, featuring Pikachu as the player’s starter Pokémon, which follows the player character throughout the game. Unlike other Pokémon, this Pikachu has a unique voice and personality, and its affection towards the player changes based on in-game actions. Players can also acquire the original three starter Pokémon—Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle—during their journey. The game introduces characters from the anime, such as Team Rocket’s Jessie and James, enhancing the narrative experience. Additional features include a “Surfing Pikachu” minigame and improved graphics. Upon release, Pokémon Yellow received critical acclaim for its engaging gameplay and innovative features, becoming one of the best-selling Game Boy games. In 2018, it was remade for the Nintendo Switch as Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, introducing the classic adventure to a new generation of players.
